Two things: government photo ID, and proof the vehicle is yours — normally the ICBC vehicle registration. That's the whole list for most pickups in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam.
Your ID has to match the ownership
The name on the registration should match the ID of the person signing and taking payment. If the vehicle is in a spouse's or parent's name, have them there, or have their signed authorization ready.
Take the plates off before the truck leaves
Plates stay with you in BC, not with the car. Pull them and cancel or transfer the insurance so you stop paying on a vehicle that's already been recycled.
Lost the registration?
Call anyway — it's a common situation and usually solvable. An Autoplan broker can reprint the registration for the registered owner, often the same day.
Special cases
A deceased owner's vehicle, an estate, an abandoned car on your property or a lien on the title all have a path forward, but they need a quick conversation first. Mention it on the call so nothing stalls in the driveway.
